Scott Buer explains, “Certified Humane® is a great way for us to have proof for ourselves and for our customers that the pork we get is from animals that are raised in a sustainable and humane way. We really like that the program is created for farmers who are doing things the right way.”

Oliver has played a role in helping Sobeys be the first retailer in North America to offer chicken, pork and beef that is Certified Humane®. This means the animal was treated humanely with a nutritious diet, no antibiotics or hormones and given sufficient space, among other criteria.
