Your voice is changing life for farm animals
Your support for Certified Humane® and your demand for Certified Humane® products are changing the way farm animals are raised today.
Just last month, Quebec-based pork producer, duBreton®, the #1 producer of Organic and Certified Humane Raised and Handled® pork in all of North America, said they couldn’t keep up with the consumer demand for Certified Humane® pork. As a result, they announced a plan to add more farms to the Certified Humane program, which means an additional 300,000 pigs will be raised without gestation stalls and farrowing crates by 2018.
You did this! By supporting Certified Humane® and shopping for humanely-raised food, you used your consumer power to persuade farmers and retailers to produce and sell Certified Humane Raised and Handled® food.
And our successes for farm animals didn’t stop there.
Did you know…
…U.S. retailers, like Whole Foods and Chipotle now buy duBreton Certified Humane® pork products for their stores?
…several U.S. and Canadian grocery retailers are starting to ask farms to become Certified Humane® in order to continue selling in their stores?
…several new cattle farms, chicken farms and laying hen operations in the U.S. and a dairy farm in South American became Certified Humane® over the last few months?
Consumer demand is driving this success. And thanks to you, more than 96.7 million farm animals are now in the Certified Humane® program compared to just 143,000 when we launched in 2003. These animals are guaranteed ample space to live natural lives and freedom from crates, cages and stalls.
Won’t you help keep this momentum growing by supporting Certified Humane® today?
Your gift of $25, $35, $40 or more will help us reach more farmers, educate more consumers, and continue independent third-party inspections to ensure farms always meet our high animal welfare standards.
You’ve helped us get this far. Let’s keep going until every farm animal can be raised Certified Humane®.
With gratitude,
Sincerely,

Adele Douglass
Executive Director
