A fast-casual Tex-Mex restaurant is debuting in the Orlando market this week.
Miami-based Lime Fresh Mexican Grill, owned by LFMG International LLC, is scheduled to open its first Central Florida location on Oct. 21 in the Phillips Crossing shopping center in southwest Orlando. The new 2,500-square-foot, 135-seat restaurant was built in four weeks by Celebration-based general contractor Northboro Builders Inc., said a spokeswoman.
LMFG International in September signed a 10-year lease with two five-year options for the space on Turkey Lake and Sand Lake roads. Joanne Ling of Houston-based Weingarten Realty Investors represented her employer, the landlord, in the lease deal, while Richard Patino of Sierra Advisors represented the tenant.
Lime Fresh is being described as the first chain in the United States to serve 100 percent certified humane meats, based on a program run by Herndon, Va.-based nonprofit organization Humane Farm Animal Care that ensures proper treatment of animals.
