Meet the Scientific Committee
The Scientific Committee is made up of animal scientists and veterinarians from around the globe who helped us develop and now maintain objective, science-based standards for the humane treatment of farm animals. These experts are dedicated to understanding and improving farm animal practices. As volunteers, they are independent voices who share our commitment to improve the lives of farm animals through the expansion of science-based care standards worldwide.
When the Certified Humane® program was created, many of the current members of the Scientific Committee contributed their expertise to the development of the first Farm Animal Care Standards. Today, the Scientific Committee advises us on how to apply the latest research and best practices to modern farming realities. They continue to expand the program by helping develop standards for additional species, like ducks or red deer, improving the lives of even more farm animals.
