Gestation Stalls
Gestation Stalls Are Prohibited.
Industry standards allow gestation stalls and farrowing crates that prohibit the movement of the sow for the duration of her pregnancy and after the birth of her piglets. Once the piglets are weaned, the sows are then bred again and placed back in the gestation stalls. The following are photos of traditional gestation stalls and farrowing crates that are prohibited by HFAC’s standards.
